IRS Announces New Mileage Reimbursement Rates

The IRS has issued a midyear increase to the 2022 standard mileage rates due to the high cost of fuel. Effective July 1, 2022, there will be an increase of 4 cents for business and medical/moving mileage.

Please make a note to communicate these changes for the second half of 2022 to your teams!

January 1 – June 30, 2022

  • Business Mileage: 58.5 cents per mile
  • Medical or Armed Forces Moving Mileage: 18 cents per mile
  • Charitable Service Mileage: 14 cents per mile

July 1 – December 31, 2022

  • Business Mileage: 62.5 cents per mile (4 cent increase)
  • Medical or Armed Forces Moving Mileage: 22 cents per mile (4 cent increase)
  • Charitable Service Mileage: 14 cents per mile (no change)
