Tax Refund

Keep an eye on your mailbox – Georgia is issuing refunds to many Georgia taxpayers!

In March, Governor Kemp signed a bill to give state income refunds to people who filed tax returns in Georgia for 2020 and 2021. Those refunds are starting to appear in mailboxes and they should be approximately $250 for single filers, $375 for head of household filers, and $500 for joint filers. If you did not file as a resident in both years, the refund may be prorated. In addition, the refund cannot exceed that amount paid in tax in 2020.

There is no action needed on your part as these refunds will be automatically issued.
